Who edits it
The pages are edited under the pen name Morgan Hale, by a small team rather than one expert, and we say so plainly. We don't claim tournament titles or publisher connections. What we do claim is narrower and easier to check: the numbers on each page (cards dealt, points scored, targets) match the sources listed at the foot of that page. The site is owned and run by Stellar Capital.
How a page gets checked
- Where a publisher prints official rules, we start from that sheet: Mattel for UNO, Phase 10 and SKIP-BO, Hasbro for YAHTZEE, SORRY! and TROUBLE, PlayMonster for Farkle. For traditional games we use pagat.com, Bicycle's rules library, FIDE for chess, and the governing body where there is one.
- One version goes in the main rules, normally the one most US players use. Every other version we could source goes under House rules, with a note on who plays it that way.
- Worked hands and calculator results are checked by running the scoring in code, not by eye. The score sheets and the rules pages share the same numbers.
- Every source carries the date we read it. The current set was last reviewed in September 2026. 43 games are covered so far and more are added each month.
The videos
The explainer videos are animated in code from the same card, dice and pegboard drawings used on this site. The narration is a synthetic voice reading a script we write and check against the rules page. None of them uses a publisher's logo, box art or card design.
How the site is paid for
The site is free to use. It may show advertising, and some pages link to Amazon, which can pay us a commission on a purchase. Neither changes the rules we print. See the affiliate disclosure.
Trademarks
UNO, Phase 10 and SKIP-BO are trademarks of Mattel, Inc. YAHTZEE, SORRY! and TROUBLE are trademarks of Hasbro. RUMMIKUB and LCR are trademarks of their owners. We use the names only to identify the games; this site has no connection with any publisher.
If your rule book says otherwise
Tell us through the contact page, and include the edition or source. If we have it wrong, the page gets fixed and dated.
